Job Description:
As a Quality Assurance Receiving Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining product quality by inspecting and verifying all incoming parts and materials to ensure they meet established specifications before being released to production. In addition to receiving inspections, you will support calibration activities, conduct engineering tests, and analyze production inspection data. You will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying quality trends and recommending process enhancements. This role requires close collaboration with the Engineering and Quality teams to uphold and advance our commitment to high-quality standards.
Essential Job Functions
As a Quality Assurance Receiving Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating departmental activities in alignment with established guidelines and quality standards to ensure the production of the highest quality products in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires working a split shift from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform receiving inspections, including measurement, acceptance, or rejection of incoming parts.
Create receiving inspection sheets identifying key characteristics to be inspected, along with corresponding electronic SPC (Statistical Process Control) files.
Manage calibration activities, including gauge calibration, locating gauges for calibration, and maintaining the overall calibration system.
Conduct engineering testing and accurately document results in accordance with all relevant EN (European) and ICWM (ANSI) standards for casters.
Review production inspection data—both logs and electronic SPC data—to identify opportunities for process improvement and reduce non-value-added inspections. This effort will be supported by Engineering and Quality.
Assist with safety initiatives, including maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Follow detailed instructions and complete assigned tasks independently and proactively.
·Serve as the daily backup for Distribution Shipping and Receiving operations.
Physical Demands:
Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, to operate a motor vehicle and forklift; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. The job involves walking and working on slippery surfaces. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment. All employees must wear company approved safety glasses while in the plant and distribution areas.
Environmental Elements:
Employees primarily work in the warehouse and are exposed to loud noise levels, vibration, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards, and moving objects or other vehicles. May be exposed to cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, mechanical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes. Employees may interact with staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

Job requirements
Required Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with common measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, vision systems, height gauges, pin gauges, and comparators.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to foster a positive and cooperative working environment.
Highly organized with attention to detail.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Willingness and enthusiasm to learn proper metrology and engineering practices.
